As part of a phishing attack scammers are trying to fraudulently get payment information of Apple users.
Representatives of the company Intego, which is responsible in the field of computer security, phishing warning of an attack aimed at users of Apple.
Under attack, scammers send users e-mail message purporting to be from the iTunes Store and Mac App Store. The destination performs the following email address: [email protected] The letter reads: “Dear user, the validity of your credentials had expired. You need to upgrade them. If you do not, then, your account will be suspended. Simply click on the link below, enter your credentials and confirm your payment information. ”
After the user passes through the link, it redirects to a page where they must enter their credentials. Next page opens asking you to enter your credit card information to update your account. Thus, attackers can easily get payment information unwary users.
Representatives Intego notes that Apple will never ask for personal information of users, especially those on credit cards, without a secure connection. Therefore, users should be careful and check «https» in the URL-address of the page.
Note that this is the second such attack on the customer Apple. Earlier scammers send out a notification to users of Apple MobileMe Team of the presence of malware on a user’s iDisk. The letter stated that in order to prevent the spread of the virus, should be sent to that address their credentials.
