CES 2013: Lenovo puts touchscreens on their laptops and ultrabooks

Lenovo has announced new versions of its ultrabooks and laptops – IdeaPad U310 Touch, IdeaPad U410 Touch, IdeaPad Z400 Touch and IdeaPad Z500 Touch. Innovation is to set them with a touch screen with support for 10-point multitouch, as well as changes to certain characteristics. All four models are optimized for operating system Windows 8.

U310, which is positioned as the flagship, is equipped with 13.3-inch touch screen, and the U410 – 14-inch, both have a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. Of the rest of the parameters are the following – you can set CPU Intel Core Ivy Bridge up to i7, latest NVIDIA GeForce graphics with support for DirectX 11, the casing is 18 mm, battery, which “will last for the whole day.” There is also a function of Instant Resume, by which, as reported, the devices may come out of hibernation for a second.

Z400 and Z500 – is a classic with a diagonal touchscreen laptops in 14 and 15.6 inches. Among the advantages of the standard is Intel Core i7 third generation NVIDIA GT645M graphics with 2GB of video memory, up to 8 GB of RAM, a backlit keyboard shortcuts. In addition, apparently, instead of 1366×768-pixel display option will be available for a clearer resolution 1600×900 pixels.

As for the start of sales, U310 and Z400 will be available starting in March at a price of 779 and 699 dollars respectively. A large version of a U410 and Z500 will be available a month later – in April 2013 at a price of between 850 and 699 dollars respectively.
